Bruna Caroline Ferreira, the mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew and godson, recently opened up about her ICE arrest in an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett on December 12. She expressed her thoughts on the situation and directed some pointed comments towards the White House press secretary, who happens to be the godmother of her son.
Ferreira, a 33-year-old immigrant from Brazil who has been residing in the United States since she was six years old, was unexpectedly detained by ICE in November while picking up her 11-year-old son from school in Revere, Mass. In response to the White House’s insinuations, Ferreira notably remarked, “Just because you went to a Catholic school doesn’t make you a good Catholic,” directed at Leavitt, her brother’s ex-fiancée and current co-parent.
