On Friday, Dec. 12, Democrats on the U.S. House Oversight Committee released 19 photos from a batch of 95,000 that they are continuing to pore through as evidence from the estate of the late financier and convicted sex offender. Andrew is just one of many high-profile men featured in the photos. Also pictured are President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Woody Allen, Bill Gates, Steve Bannon, Richard Branson and more. “It is time to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends,” California Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, said in a statement. “These disturbing photos raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world. What’s notable about the image of Andrew is not simply that he is not pictured with Epstein. The photo of the former prince and Bill Gates was taken at a Malaria Summit in London in April 2018. In the original Getty Images version, Andrew and Gates are seen speaking with King Charles, then the Prince of Wales. However, in the newly released batch of photos, Charles is cropped out, leaving only Gates and Andrew in the frame. Dominic Lipinski-WPA Pool/Getty While Epstein doesn’t appear in the photo, there is another possible allusion to his relationship with Andrew elsewhere in the evidence. A screenshot of an email sent on March 6, 2011, is addressed to someone listed as “TheDuke,” though the actual email address is censored. The subject of the email reads, “feel fre (sic) to pass this to your presss people.” Epstein writes, “you ok? these stories are complete ant utter fantasy.. I don’t know and have never met Al gore. CLinton was never on the island.. the telephone book is not mine. it was stolen by my houseman who is curreently in prison for doing so.” PEOPLE has reached out to a spokesperson for Andrew for comment. Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were among the guests at the private ceremony for Princess Beatrice’s second daughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, who was baptized on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in London. Their appearance marked one of the first joint family outings for the former couple since King Charles stripped Andrew of his royal titles in late October. Buckingham Palace announced the shocking news on Oct. 30. PEOPLE understands that the King reached his decision with the support of members of the royal family, including Prince William. While Andrew continues to deny the accusations against him, it is clear that there have been serious lapses of judgment from the King’s perspective. Consequences for the former duke came slowly over more than a decade prior to his ultimate royal eviction. In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from a minor. Giuffre alleged that she was sex trafficked to the former prince when she was 17 and had three sexual encounters with him. Andrew has continuously denied any wrongdoing in the case. While still the Duke of York, he stepped back from his duties as a working royal in November 2019, following a scrutinized interview with BBC’s Newsnight about his alleged ties to Epstein. Then, in January 2022, Queen Elizabeth stripped her second son of his military titles and patronages after he attempted to have Giuffre’s sexual assault lawsuit against him dismissed. The following month, he settled with Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed sum. Giuffre died by suicide on April 24, 2025. She was 41. Scrutiny of Andrew intensified after the publication of her posthumous memoir. He told journalist Emily Maitlis at the time that he had cut off contact with Epstein in 2010. However, on Oct. 12, 2025, The Mail on Sunday and The Sun on Sunday concurrently published an email that the then-Duke of York allegedly wrote to Epstein on the day after the infamous picture of him with his arm around Giuffre was published by The Mail on Sunday in 2011. In the email, Andrew reportedly wrote, “I’m just as concerned for you! Don’t worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it.” “Otherwise, keep in close touch, and we’ll play some more soon!!!!” he added, before signing off with “A, HRH The Duke of York, KG.” The “KG” is a reference to him being a knight of the prestigious Order of the Garter. Weeks later, he would officially lose all of the titles in that sign-off.
