Prince William commemorated 20 years of dedication to a charity endorsed by his late mother, Princess Diana. The Duke of Cambridge visited the headquarters of Centrepoint in London on December 9, 2025. Centrepoint is focused on addressing homelessness, a cause close to both Princess Diana’s and Prince William’s hearts. The Prince’s involvement with the charity dates back to 2005, marking one of his longest-standing commitments since entering public life after university.

During his recent visit, Prince William engaged with Centrepoint’s staff and young individuals who have benefitted from the charity’s support. Together, they collaborated on creating a “Wall of Hope” mural to honour Centrepoint’s journey and its vision of eradicating youth homelessness. The artwork was co-designed by a group of young people along with artist Lanré Olagoke MBE, who brings a unique perspective as someone who experienced homelessness. In recognition of his contributions, Lanré Olagoke was listed in the King’s New Year’s honors in 2024 for his artistic contributions to supporting vulnerable youth.

Prince William has been actively involving his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, in discussions surrounding homelessness. In the 2024 documentary, “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness,” he shared his experiences of introducing the topic to his children during their school runs. The Duke has shown a profound commitment to understanding the issue, exemplified by his decision to spend a night on the streets of London in 2009 alongside Centrepoint’s CEO Seyi Obakin.
Obakin recounted Prince William’s desire to gain a firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by homeless youth, emphasizing the Prince’s authenticity in his approach to philanthropy. Prince William’s consistent hands-on involvement and genuine interest in the cause have left a lasting impact on both Centrepoint and the wider community. His dedication extends beyond occasional visits, as he frequently volunteers, such as serving Christmas meals at shelters like The Passage.
The holiday season, in particular, highlights the struggles faced by the homeless population, making Prince William’s presence and support even more impactful. His interactions with individuals experiencing homelessness are described as sincere and deeply engaged, earning him respect and trust within the community. Notably, Centrepoint’s recent research projects a significant increase in youth homelessness this winter, underlining the ongoing importance of initiatives like Homewards, a homelessness project supported by both Centrepoint and Prince William.
Throughout his tenure with Centrepoint, Prince William has consistently demonstrated a heartfelt commitment to advocating for vulnerable populations and seeking tangible solutions to address homelessness. His unwavering dedication to the cause echoes Princess Diana’s legacy of compassion and social consciousness. As the Duke of Cambridge continues to champion Centrepoint’s mission, his actions serve as a beacon of hope for those in need and inspire positive change in society.
