GOP Senator, 64, Hospitalized with Concussion and Brain Bleed After Slip on Ice

North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer, aged 64, is currently recuperating at home after a concerning incident where he slipped on ice and suffered head injuries. The GOP member shared on Facebook that he had a mishap while attempting to retrieve a piece of conduit that had fallen onto the ice near his dock.

According to Cramer, as he was making his way down a hill towards the dock, he accidentally stepped on ice and fell hard, hitting the back of his head. Following the fall, he was taken to the emergency room at Sanford Health by his wife, Kris. Doctors diagnosed him with a severe concussion, a seizure, and a slight brain bleed.

The severity of the injury prompted medical professionals to staple the wound where it was oozing and admit Cramer for observation. Despite a challenging night, the senator underwent a second CT scan the next morning before being discharged. He disclosed that although he is feeling better, he still experiences headaches and has a slight brain bleed.

In adherence to doctor’s orders, Cramer will be resting at home to recover before considering a return to Washington D.C. However, he assured the public that he is prepared to resume his duties promptly should the need arise. Just two months ago, the senator’s son, Ian Cramer, was involved in a car accident that resulted in the death of Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Martin. Ian Cramer was subsequently sentenced to 28 years in prison due to the incident.

In response to his son’s troubles, Senator Cramer shared that Ian suffers from severe mental disorders that manifest in paranoia and hallucinations. The family expressed deep sorrow for the loss experienced by the officer’s family and colleagues, while also seeking prayers for Ian’s healing and well-being.
