The Real Housewives of Orange County star, Kelly Dodd, recently spoke out in solidarity with former castmate Meghan King, who faced the tragic loss of custody of her three children. In a heartfelt post on TikTok, Dodd shared her unwavering support for King after the news surfaced that she had lost custody of her kids to her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds.
Despite past conflicts and disagreements, Dodd expressed her compassion for King, stating, “So I just got off the phone with Meghan King Edmonds. And this I do know. Meghan King Edmonds, we’ve had a lot of differences and a lot of fights and a lot of things.”
Dodd continued, revealing personal moments of care and friendship, “She stayed at my house. I took care of her when she got her boob and her nose done. And I can tell you, she loves those babies. She loves those kids. And I know for a fact she’s a good mother. She is an excellent mother.”
In a plea for positive thoughts and prayers for King and her family, Dodd emphasised the importance of the children’s need for their mother during this challenging time. “I just pray that she gets her babies back. Everyone just pray for Meghan and her family. Those boys and that daughter need their mom. They need their mother. And it’s terrible. It’s terrible what is going on right now. All we can do is just pray for Meghan.”
The distressing news of King’s custody loss emerged on November 19, following a report that Child Protective Services had intervened. Allegedly, a school employee raised concerns about King’s parenting, prompting an investigation that resulted in Edmonds gaining sole physical custody while King was granted supervised visitation.
While these reports are yet to be independently verified, sources suggest that a hearing is scheduled for early December to determine the permanency of the custody arrangement. Both King and Edmonds have not provided official statements on the matter at this time.
King and Edmonds parted ways in 2019 after five years of marriage, finalising their divorce in May 2021. They share three children together, daughter Aspen and twins Hart and Hayes.
Following the divorce, tensions between King and Edmonds have escalated, culminating in a noteworthy altercation involving Edmonds’ current wife, Kortnie. The incident led to a confrontation involving the police, with King alleging emotional abuse by Edmonds.
In response to the escalating conflicts between the former couple, a representative for Edmonds has emphasised his commitment to co-parenting in the best interest of their children. Despite accusations from King, the representative maintains that Edmonds is an active and attentive father, prioritising the well-being of his kids.
