Two teenagers tragically lost their lives in a devastating rollover crash that occurred in Florida on State Road 33. The incident took place at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, when a 16-year-old girl driving a 2008 Toyota Scion attempted to overtake another vehicle in a section marked as a no passing zone. Reports from the Orlando Sentinel, the Daily Commercial, and Fox 35 Orlando stated that as the teenager entered the northbound lane, she encountered a 2021 Lincoln Aviator driven by a 75-year-old man from Lakeland. In a desperate attempt to avoid a collision, the young driver swerved, but tragically lost control of the vehicle, leading to a crash with the Aviator and causing the car to overturn.

Tragically, the 16-year-old driver and her teenage male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Additionally, four occupants of the Lincoln Aviator were injured and subsequently taken to the hospital. One of the passengers, a 6-year-old child, sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized, while the 75-year-old driver and two other passengers, a 66-year-old woman and a 5-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries.

Both individuals were students at South Lake High School in Groveland, a confirmation provided by Lake County Schools to Fox 35 Orlando.
