Olivia Henderson, a DoorDash delivery driver, was recently arrested for allegedly posting a TikTok video of a male customer who was found naked and asleep in his residence when she made a delivery. The incident took place in Oswego, N.Y., and has sparked controversy and legal action.

Henderson’s arrest comes after she claimed to have been sexually assaulted during the delivery, which led to an investigation by the Oswego City Police Department. However, authorities found no evidence supporting her assault claims. The male customer, who was reportedly unconscious in the video, has been cooperating with the investigation.

The video, taken from outside the customer’s residence, showed the man in a vulnerable state. Henderson uploaded the video on social media, which later got removed by TikTok. She accused TikTok, DoorDash, and the police of silencing her and punishing her for reporting the alleged assault.
In response to the incident, DoorDash confirmed that the Dasher involved in posting the video had been deactivated. The company reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards sexual assault and highlighted the violation of customer privacy in this case. Henderson’s account was deactivated solely due to her actions of sharing the video.
Henderson now faces charges of unlawful dissemination of surveillance images and unlawful surveillance. While she has been released with a ticket for a future court appearance, the legal proceedings are ongoing, with a court date set for December 4. The public defender’s office representing Henderson has not yet provided any further information about her case.
This incident has brought attention to the responsibility that delivery drivers have towards customer privacy and the consequences of violating it. It serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding ethical standards and respecting the privacy and dignity of individuals, especially in vulnerable situations.
The case highlights the power of social media in shaping narratives and the legal implications of sharing sensitive content without consent. It also underscores the need for companies like DoorDash to enforce strict policies to protect customer privacy and ensure accountability among their employees.
As the legal proceedings continue, this case will likely prompt discussions about the boundaries of sharing content online and the ethical considerations that individuals and companies must uphold in the digital age. It stands as a cautionary tale of the potential repercussions of violating privacy rights and using social media platforms irresponsibly.
