A distressing case has come to light as a man from New York, Ramel Warner, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 7-year-old boy, whom he was entrusted to babysit. Shockingly, not only did Warner commit this heinous act, but he also went a step further by posting multiple videos of the assault on the dark web. The incident occurred in 2022, and Warner was indicted by a grand jury on Jan. 29, leading to his subsequent arrest. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York announced his arrest and charged him with one count of sexual exploitation of a child following the disturbing allegations.

According to reports from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New York Office, Warner, also known by the alias Menah, carried out the despicable act in the child’s home while babysitting him. Shockingly, Warner recorded six videos of the abuse, one of which was over four minutes long, depicting him engaging in unspeakable acts with the young victim. These videos, which showcased Warner anally penetrating and performing oral sex on the child, were then shared on the dark web, a hidden part of the internet known for illicit activities.

Prior to his arrest, Warner had regular access to children through school programs and activities in Brooklyn, as per the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office. At the time of his apprehension, Warner was affiliated with a dance group for minors operating out of a middle school in Brooklyn, raising concerns of potential additional victims. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI’s New York Office and the NYPD Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, are actively investigating to identify and assist any other victims in this distressing case.

James E. Dennehy, the FBI Assistant Director in Charge, condemned Warner’s alleged actions as unforgivable, expressing concerns that there may be more victims who have yet to come forward. Dennehy urged anyone with information related to Warner’s crimes to step forward and aid in the investigation to ensure justice for the victims. The FBI is steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding children and ensuring perpetrators of such atrocities are held accountable within the justice system.

Following his arrest in January, Warner has been detained pending trial. If found guilty, he faces a potential minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, with a maximum term of up to 30 years.
