A serene morning turned into a chaotic scene for a bridal party as floodwaters disrupted their glam session just hours before the ceremony. The incident occurred at The Historic Ambassador House & Heritage Gardens in Fishers, Indiana, where Trinity Burke was preparing for her wedding day on July 19. The rental home built in 1826 became the unexpected setting for a “horror story” when indoor fire sprinklers were accidentally triggered, showering the room with water for 30 minutes.

Makeup artist Nicole Flores, who was on the scene, described the sudden deluge, saying, “The water came out so fast, and there was so much the room flooded almost up to their ankles. The water was pouring to the downstairs dining room area and coming from the ceiling.” The mishap was caused when a hairstylist hung a bridesmaid’s dress on the fire sprinkler, resulting in a cascade of water that quickly filled the space.

Despite the initial shock and disruption, the bridal party managed to relocate to a different location to salvage their preparations. However, the unforeseen flood led to an hour’s delay in starting the ceremony. As the firefighters arrived to shut off the sprinklers and ensure safety, the group of women had to adapt quickly to the changing circumstances.
With the wedding dress luckily unharmed as it was not in the flooded room, Trinity Burke and her entourage found themselves in an unfamiliar setting for the final touch-ups before the ceremony. Flores recounted the challenging experience of doing makeup in a cramped space under time pressure but expressed determination not to compromise on the quality of her work, noting, “The bride kept telling me I didn’t need to rush and to take my time and that we would get done when we get done.”
Amidst the flurry of activity and last-minute adjustments, the bridal party, including bridesmaids, coordinators, and family members, managed to regroup at a nearby location provided by the event center owners. Despite the inconvenience, the support and understanding of the venue staff helped alleviate some of the stress during this unexpected turn of events.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Flores shared a video of the incident on Instagram with a cautionary message, “This is your sign to not hang a dress from a fire sprinkler,” underscoring the importance of caution in such situations. Despite the challenges faced, the determination and resilience of the bridal party shone through as they rallied together to ensure that the wedding celebrations proceeded as planned.
In the end, the bridal party’s experience serves as a testament to their ability to adapt and overcome unforeseen obstacles, reinforcing the idea that even amidst unexpected challenges, moments of joy and celebration can still shine through. As they exchanged vows and celebrated the union of Trinity Burke and her partner, the memory of the flooded glam session will undoubtedly become a story to remember and share for years to come.
