Two teenagers tragically lost their lives in a head-on car crash while celebrating a friend’s 15th birthday in Minnesotta. The incident has left the community in shock and mourning as they come to terms with the devastating loss of these young lives.

The fatal crash took place at the intersection of Stacy Trail and Ivywood Trail in Chisago City during the early morning hours of October 25. The collision involved a 2014 Toyota Camry carrying two 15-year-old passengers and a 17-year-old driver, which collided with a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner driven by a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old passenger. Tragically, one of the 15-year-old boys lost his life at the scene, while the others suffered serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The Lakes Area Police Department reported that the 17-year-old driver of the Toyota did not survive his injuries and passed away at the hospital shortly after the crash. The community has come together to remember the victims, with memorials being erected at the site of the accident to honour their memory.
Jax Affolter, one of the teenagers who tragically lost his life in the crash, was remembered by the Chisago Lakes Hockey Association as “a much loved son, brother, friend and teammate.” The association expressed their condolences and commitment to supporting Jax’s family during this difficult time. A Meal Train was set up to support the 15-year-old victim’s family, which has already raised more than $10,000 in donations.
