The victim, identified as 18-year-old Isaac Brocco Rivera from Lorain Success Academy, was fatally shot at Lakeview Park in Lorain on October 18th, as revealed by the Lorain Police Department.

The authorities revealed that the unfortunate event unfolded when a juvenile family member was handling a firearm inside a parked car, and the gun was discharged accidentally, resulting in the fatal shooting of Mr. Brocco Rivera while they were both seated in the vehicle.

Upon receiving reports of the shooting, the police rushed to the scene at approximately 6:44 p.m. and discovered the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head inside the parked car. The investigation indicated that the victim was found in the driver’s seat of a gold jeep at the park where teenagers were taking photos for a homecoming dance. However, it remained unclear if anyone witnessed the shooting incident.

Efforts were made to save the teenager’s life as he was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after. The authorities recovered a handgun from Lakeview Park on the day of the incident, although it was determined not to be the weapon used in the shooting.
