HGTV stars, Ray and Eilyn Jimenez, have come forward with shocking allegations regarding the death of their beloved dog, Aria, who was reportedly under the care of a dog sitter from Rover. The couple took to Instagram on Tuesday, October 22, to share their harrowing experience and warn pet owners about the dangers of entrusting their pets to sitters.

In a heartfelt post accompanied by photos of Aria and their other dogs, the Jimenez couple recounted the tragic events that unfolded while they were away. According to their account, upon their return on August 29, 2025, the sitter informed them that Aria had passed away peacefully in her sleep, allegedly confirmed by a supposed ‘vet friend named Nicole’. However, the post revealed that every detail of this story was fabricated.
The couple claimed that cremation records showed Aria’s body was brought in on the same day she died, with the sitter’s partner admitting that Aria had been killed by a larger dog. Describing gruesome injuries inconsistent with a peaceful passing, the Jimenezes raised serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding Aria’s death.
Rover, the platform through which the sitter was hired, responded to the Jimenezes’ allegations by expressing condolences and stating that the sitter in question had been deactivated without recourse. The company assured that they were cooperating with investigations and providing support to the grieving family during this difficult time.
Eilyn and Ray Jimenez went on to reveal that, according to their investigation, the sitter was allegedly not even in Miami but participating in a jiu-jitsu tournament in Las Vegas at the time of Aria’s death. They accused the sitter of cremating Aria without consent, erasing evidence and misleading them about the circumstances surrounding the dog’s passing.
Despite giving the sitter opportunities to come clean, the Jimenezes expressed frustration at the continued deception and called for transparency and accountability in the wake of Aria’s tragic death. They insisted that their claims were supported by evidence and aimed at seeking truth and justice for their beloved pet.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the safety of pet-sitting services, prompting discussions around the need for stricter regulations and oversight in the industry. Pet owners are reminded to thoroughly vet and monitor individuals entrusted with the care of their beloved animals to prevent similar tragedies.
As investigations into the matter continue, the Jimenezes seek closure and justice for Aria, advocating for greater accountability and transparency in the pet-sitting community. The case serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of vigilance and caution when engaging pet care services, urging pet owners to prioritize the well-being and safety of their furry companions above all else.
