Questions arose regarding the handling of Dietz’s injury by allowing him to reenter the game, to which Connors State College has not yet responded.

In response to the tragic event, Connors State College made the decision to cancel the remaining men’s basketball games for December as a mark of respect for Dietz and to provide necessary support to the team and Dietz’s family. The school announced plans to recommence games in January and dedicate the rest of the season to Ethan Dietz, honouring his memory and legacy within the college community.
