Brooke Mueller has recently claimed that her former spouse, Charlie Sheen, owes her an outstanding sum of $15 million in child support. This revelation has sparked a legal battle between the ex-couple as Mueller insists on the payment of this substantial amount within a period of 30 days. According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Mueller asserts that Sheen was obliged to pay her $55,000 monthly in child support, a commitment that he allegedly ceased fulfilling in full around 2011. The former partners share custody of their 16-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max.

Mueller’s demand for the payment of $15.3 million from Sheen comprises both the unpaid child support cost and accrued interest, amounting to $8,967,600 and $6,418,643 respectively. These claims were brought to light through legal filings, with TMZ being the first to spotlight this financial dispute. The actress has made it unequivocal that she expects Sheen to settle this outstanding sum within the specified 30-day timeframe. Neither Mueller’s representative nor Sheen’s spokesperson has released any statements in response to these allegations.

The contentious issue of child support between Mueller and Sheen has been a recurring conflict, spanning back to an initial order in April 2010. Mueller maintains that there were no complications regarding payments until July 2011 when Sheen allegedly started failing to provide full payment or at times, any payment at all. As a consequence, Mueller is now seeking legal intervention to enforce the retrieval of the overdue funds along with an additional $25,000 to cover her legal fees.

In past discussions with PEOPLE, Mueller has addressed her journey towards sobriety and reflected on her co-parenting dynamics with Sheen concerning their two sons. Despite the challenges they have faced, Mueller acknowledged the supportive role Sheen plays in their children’s lives and commended his involvement in their upbringing. Acknowledging the complexities of their situation, Mueller expressed gratitude for Sheen’s continuous presence and shared custody arrangement, emphasising the importance of their mutual efforts in co-parenting.
Conversely, Sheen has also disclosed his perspective on his relationship with his twin sons, affirming their admiration for his sobriety and the challenges presented by Mueller’s reported relapses. Their custody arrangement includes joint legal custody conditional on Mueller’s sobriety, stipulating that in the event of a relapse, Sheen may assume sole custody of the children. This arrangement underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the former couple in navigating their co-parenting responsibilities amidst personal struggles and legal disputes.
The tumultuous relationship between Mueller and Sheen, which dates back to their marriage from 2008 to 2011, has seen its fair share of legal battles and personal struggles. Despite the complexities surrounding their dynamic, the focus remains on the well-being of their twin sons, with both parties striving to create a nurturing environment for their children. As the legal proceedings unfold, the outcome of this dispute will undoubtedly impact the future co-parenting arrangements and financial responsibilities between Mueller and Sheen.
