Survivor of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, Jena-Lisa Jones, has strongly criticised President Donald Trump for his handling of the Epstein case, describing it as a ‘national embarrassment’. Speaking at the U.S. Capitol on November 18, Jones, who was abused by Epstein at the age of 14, made a public plea for Trump to stop politicising the issue of releasing the Epstein files.

Jones, who mentioned she had voted for Trump, expressed disappointment in the president’s response to efforts to reveal more evidence related to Epstein. Despite initial resistance from Trump, he eventually changed his stance and supported the release of the files once bipartisan support for the bill emerged. The House later voted 427-1 in favour of demanding the release of the files, with only one Republican opposing the move.

During her speech, Jones challenged Trump’s characterization of the Epstein case as a ‘hoax’, emphasising that survivors like herself were seeking transparency and accountability. She urged Trump to focus on the importance of understanding Epstein’s network of associates and enablers, rather than diverting attention to unrelated political investigations.
Jones called out the administration for its reluctance to disclose pertinent information related to Epstein, accusing them of hindering transparency. She implored Trump to demonstrate leadership and genuine concern for the survivors and to refrain from politicising the issue further.
Having voted for Trump with the hope of receiving protection and justice for survivors like herself, Jones expressed her bewilderment and disappointment at his dismissive attitude towards the Epstein case. She underscored the need for Trump to act in the best interests of the survivors and uphold moral integrity in supporting the release of the files.
In her poignant address, Jones urged Trump to transcend political divides and prioritise the uncovering of the truth behind Epstein’s actions and the complicity of those associated with him. She reiterated the significance of holding Epstein’s accomplices and enablers accountable, regardless of their political affiliations.
Jones’ impassioned plea for Trump to rise above political motivations and demonstrate genuine care for the survivors resonated with many, highlighting the broader call for transparency and justice in the Epstein case. As the Senate prepares to review the bill for the release of the Epstein files, the pressure mounts on Trump to show leadership and compassion in pursuing truth and accountability.
The unfolding saga surrounding Epstein’s crimes continues to captivate public attention, with survivors like Jones courageously stepping forward to demand accountability and closure. As the discourse around Epstein’s heinous actions evolves, the spotlight remains on key figures, including Trump, to act responsibly and honour the quest for justice in the face of past injustices.
