Tori Spelling, renowned actress, has been delighting her 17-year-old daughter, Stella, by sharing pieces from her iconic fashion archive from the 90s and early 2000s. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE as part of the “Free to Be Me” campaign with Arcutis Biotherapeutics, Tori and Stella discuss their unique qualities and shared experiences. Stella reveals, “I have a lot of her clothes from the 2000s. All of that stuff really came back in. It’s really popular now. I even wear her old clothes and stuff.”

Tori Spelling reflects on the reactions she received for holding onto these vintage pieces, “Everyone thought I was crazy hanging onto everything! People were like, ‘Why do you still have that? Juicy Couture is never going to come back in.’ But now, people can call me a hoarder, but I’m super grateful that I hung onto all of what I thought were iconic pieces.” Stella thoroughly enjoys exploring the boxes in the garage with her mother, amazed by the originality and nostalgia of brands like Juicy Couture, True Religion, Ed Hardy, and Hollister.
Despite their differing fashion tastes, Tori and Stella bond over a shared skin condition – eczema. While Tori has experienced occasional flare-ups, Stella faces chronic eczema and seborrheic dermatitis. Tori recalls noticing similar skin symptoms on Stella as early as her toddler years, which led them on a journey to find safe and effective solutions. The duo struggled to find products that worked until they were recommended ZORYVE, a topical, non-steroidal solution by a dermatologist.
Expressing their desire to help others dealing with similar skin conditions, Tori shares, “We love to share things, as a mother and daughter. This isn’t something we proudly share, this condition, but at least we have each other to get through it.” Stella adds, “Hopefully, we can make sure that everyone knows this isn’t something you have to deal with silently. If people find a solution that works for them, they can start to build their confidence back up.” Their involvement in the “Free to Be Me” campaign aims to inspire others to share their stories and seek effective solutions.
The mother-daughter duo’s story showcases their bond, shared interests, and determination to overcome challenges together. By opening up about their experiences with fashion and skincare, Tori and Stella offer a message of hope and support to others facing similar situations. Their journey serves as a reminder of the strength found in family connections and the power of sharing vulnerabilities to inspire and uplift those around them.
With Stella discovering and embracing her mother’s vintage fashion pieces, and both Tori and Stella navigating their skincare journey together, their story resonates with authenticity and resilience. As they continue to share their experiences and insights, Tori Spelling and Stella McDermott exemplify the beauty of familial love, mutual support, and the importance of embracing individuality and uniqueness in fashion and personal care routines.
