Initially, King was taken into custody on kidnapping charges related to Scott’s disappearance. However, additional charges including robbery, theft, violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, possession of an instrument of crime, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, arson, causing catastrophe, conspiracy, unauthorized use of an automobile, and recklessly endangering another person have been filed against him.

According to reports, investigators tracked King’s cell phone to the location where Scott’s remains were found, indicating his involvement in the crime. Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski mentioned that King’s phone was traced to the site where a vehicle linked to the case was burnt, a vehicle that authorities believe was used to transport Scott.

Following Scott’s disappearance, which occurred after she received troubling phone calls at her workplace, King’s arrest has brought to light similar allegations against him. Notably, earlier this year, he faced charges of kidnapping and strangulation in a domestic case, which were later withdrawn but are expected to be refiled by prosecutors.
