Sibling Dogs Land in Shelter for Over a Year Due to Lack of ‘Brotherly Love’

Two sibling dogs named Ozzy Pawsborne and Bark Wahlberg have found themselves facing an extended stay at the Benton-Franklin Humane Society due to their lack of ‘brotherly love’. The husky mixes have been residing at the Washington shelter since May 2024, making them the longest-staying residents. According to Jennifer Pierce, the development coordinator at BFHS, the dogs were surrendered to the shelter following a fight between the two brothers. Despite sharing a blood relationship, the dogs do not exhibit affection towards each other, showcasing an example of littermate syndrome.
