Pamela Anderson, along with her sons Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee, is set to produce a reboot of the 1996 cult classic film “Barb Wire” as a TV series. The news broke on Friday, September 19, with Deadline reporting that Anderson and her sons will be working on the project under their production company, And-Her-Sons Productions. Universal Content Productions and Dark Horse Entertainment are also on board for the project. Anderson, aged 58, shares Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, with her ex-husband Tommy Lee. The trio previously collaborated on reality series such as “Pamela’s Garden of Eden” and “Pamela’s Cooking with Love.” Brandon, in addition, has produced the 2023 Netflix documentary “Pamela: A Love Story” and the 2024 hit film “The Last Showgirl” starring Anderson.

The original “Barb Wire” film, led by Anderson in 1996, is based on the Dark Horse Comics character of the same name and also features Temuera Morrison, Victoria Rowell, and other notable actors. Despite Anderson receiving a 1996 Golden Raspberry Award for Worst New Star for her role as Barbara “Barb Wire” Kopetski, the film has since gained a cult following. Interestingly, the character is set to make a comeback, with a new actress to be announced for the upcoming TV series reboot. The Barb Wire character made its debut in 1993, and a collection of all major Barb Wire comics, “The Barb Wire Compendium,” is due to be released in February 2026. Notably, Beyoncé donned a similar outfit to Anderson’s character for Halloween 2024, paying tribute to the iconic figure.

Apart from their work on the “Barb Wire” reboot, Anderson and Brandon have proven to be a successful producing duo. Anderson revealed that Brandon was instrumental in bringing her attention to the script for “The Last Showgirl,” a project that received praise. Anderson’s recent projects include a role in the Liam Neeson-led reboot of “The Naked Gun” and participation in a Williamstown Theatre Festival production of “Camino Real.” She is also lined up for films by directors Kornél Mundruczó, Karim Aïnouz, and Sally Potter, showing a diverse and busy schedule ahead.

The specifics of the new “Barb Wire” TV series are eagerly anticipated by fans. The original film was set in a free city during a fictional Second American Civil War in 2017, raising curiosity about where and when the series will take place. With Anderson’s experience and success in the entertainment industry, coupled with the creativity and vision of her sons, the reboot is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the beloved character. As they venture into this new chapter of production, the Anderson-Lee family’s collaboration promises to breathe new life into the iconic Barb Wire character and entertain audiences once again with their creative endeavours.
