Jane Krakowski to Grace Broadway Stage in ‘Oh, Mary!’

Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski is making her triumphant return to Broadway in the uproarious hit comedy ‘Oh, Mary!’. The versatile actress, known for her roles in ’30 Rock’ and ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’, will be stepping into the shoes of Mary Todd Lincoln in this limited eight-week engagement, beginning October 14th at the Lyceum Theatre in New York City.

‘Oh, Mary!’ has garnered attention since its Off-Broadway debut, featuring a rotating cast of exceptional talents in the lead role. Previous luminaries who have taken on the part include Emmy nominees Tituss Burgess and Betty Gilpin, two-time winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Jinkx Monsoon, and the show’s creator and original star, Tony winner Cole Escola.

Krakowski expressed her excitement about joining the production, stating, “I am so honoured to slip into the bratty curls previously worn by Cole Escola, Betty Gilpin, Tituss Burgess, and Jinkx Monsoon. ‘Oh, Mary!’ is a comedic work of genius that ends up in my dream version of 7 minutes in heaven.” With her unique comedic flair and extensive stage experience, Krakowski’s portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln is eagerly anticipated.

The current leading lady, Jinkx Monsoon, will be wrapping up her performances on September 28th. During the interim period before Krakowski steps in, understudy Hannah Solow will hold the fort from September 30th to October 12th. Under the direction of Tony winner Sam Pinkleton, ‘Oh, Mary!’ made its Broadway debut in July 2024 at the Lyceum Theatre, proving to be a resounding success.

Producers have announced an extension of the production, with tickets available for shows through July 5, 2026. The show has set records at the box office, breaking the million-dollar mark in a single week, a first in the Lyceum Theatre’s 121-year history.

Aside from her upcoming stint in ‘Oh, Mary!’, Krakowski has established herself as a versatile performer across various entertainment platforms. Recognised for her Emmy-nominated role as Jenna Maroney in ’30 Rock’ and her Critics Choice Award-winning performance in ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’, Krakowski’s talent knows no bounds.

Krakowski’s extensive theatre credits include a Tony win for ‘Nine’ in 2003, with additional nominations for ‘She Loves Me’ and ‘Grand Hotel’. She has graced the stages of Broadway in productions like ‘Company’, ‘Once Upon a Mattress’, ‘Tartuffe’, and ‘Starlight Express’, as well as earning an Olivier Award for her role in ‘Guys and Dolls’ in London’s West End.
