Five individuals sustained injuries following a tragic incident where a bus employed to transport special needs students collided with an SUV. The victims involved in the accident consisted of two student passengers, a school bus aide, the bus driver, and the driver of the SUV, as confirmed by the Bethlehem Township Police Department.

The Bethlehem Township Police Department swiftly responded to the crash, which occurred around 4:35 p.m. local time on Tuesday, September 2, involving not only the school bus but also a passenger vehicle. The collision took place at an intersection in Bethlehem Township, situated within Northampton County. Based on the preliminary investigation by the police, it was revealed that the passenger vehicle had come to a stop in a westbound lane, intending to make a left turn towards the south, when the school bus, travelling westbound, approached the intersection.
Subsequently, the bus collided with the rear of the stationary vehicle waiting to turn left, causing both vehicles to sustain moderate damage that necessitated towing. The school bus involved is connected with the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20, responsible for transporting special needs students to local school districts in the area, according to the police statement.

The individuals injured in the crash, including the two student passengers, the school bus aide, the driver of the school bus, and the driver of the SUV, were promptly taken to the Emergency Room at St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus for evaluation.
