Attorney General Pamela Bondi Dismisses DOJ Employee for Disrespect Towards National Guard Member
Attorney General Pamela Bondi has taken decisive action by terminating Department of Justice (DOJ) staffer Elizabeth Baxter for her disrespectful behavior towards a member of the National Guard. The incident, which occurred on August 18 in Washington, D.C., saw Baxter flipping off and cursing at a National Guard member as she made her way to work.
This action comes amidst heightened law enforcement presence in the capital city following a request from President Donald Trump. Baxter, who worked as a paralegal specialist in the DOJ’s Environmental Defense Section, Environment and Natural Resources Division, admitted to the incident upon arriving at the DOJ’s 4CON office building. According to reports, she boasted about her actions to a security guard, including using profane language towards the National Guard.
Surveillance footage from the DOJ security desk captured Baxter demonstrating how she displayed her rude gesture towards the National Guard member. Subsequent footage showed Baxter repeating her disrespectful behavior towards the National Guard, further solidifying the severity of her actions. Following an internal investigation involving multiple witnesses, Bondi issued a termination letter to Baxter on the evening of August 29.
In the termination letter, Bondi cited Baxter’s inappropriate conduct towards National Guard service members as the grounds for her immediate removal from federal service. The Department of Justice has yet to provide a response to inquiries regarding the incident, and Baxter has not been reachable for comments.
Bondi emphasized her commitment to upholding the values of law enforcement and supporting President Trump’s agenda in a statement to the press. She made it clear that any disregard for their mission and disrespect towards law enforcement officials in the DOJ would not be tolerated. This move follows another recent dismissal by Bondi, where a DOJ employee was fired for assaulting a federal officer by throwing a Subway sandwich at them. The employee, Sean Dunn, faced felony assault charges in addition to losing his job.
The actions taken by Bondi reflect a zero-tolerance policy towards disrespectful behavior and misconduct within the Department of Justice. This incident serves as a reminder of the expectations placed on employees to uphold professional standards and treat all individuals with respect and dignity, regardless of personal opinions or beliefs.
As the situation unfolds, it underscores the importance of maintaining decorum and professionalism in all interactions, especially within the context of heightened security measures and sensitive environments. Bondi’s swift and decisive response sends a strong message about the values and conduct expected from employees in government service, setting a precedent for accountability and respect in the workplace.
