An Oklahoma man, Joshua Denton, has been accused of sexually abusing his own 6-year-old daughter and shooting his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter with a BB gun before the young girl went missing. The shocking case has left authorities and the community deeply disturbed. Denton, 40, is facing multiple child abuse charges along with his girlfriend, Ashley Rowland, 39, after four children living with the couple came forward with horrifying allegations of abuse. The investigation into Denton and Rowland was initiated when the disappearance of Rowland’s daughter, London Kerr, was reported to authorities.
The Moore Police Department first learned of London’s disappearance in October 2024 after authorities were informed that a pickup order for the young girl could not be executed. This led to a series of interviews with the children living with Denton and Rowland. The interviews uncovered disturbing accounts of abuse suffered by the children at the hands of Denton. Allegations include Denton shooting the 2-year-old girl with a BB gun, pouring hot sauce in her eyes, and even raping his own daughter when she was just 6-years-old.
Rowland initially claimed that she had given her daughter to a drug dealer named ‘Carlos’, who she believed was London’s father. However, investigators debunked this claim based on evidence provided and the timeline of events. Rowland and Denton were eventually located and questioned by police. The investigations also revealed that Denton had allegedly threatened the children with harm if they spoke about the abuse, creating a climate of fear and silence in the household.
Further interviews with the four children brought to light more allegations of physical and sexual abuse by Denton. The children described instances of extreme cruelty, including pouring hot sauce into the eyes of the young girl and locking her in a closet. Denton’s daughter also alleged that she was sexually assaulted by her father, with Rowland reportedly walking in on one of the incidents. Police found corroborating evidence in a storage space owned by Denton and Rowland, including a wooden paddle and a BB gun matching descriptions provided by the children.
On August 5, 2025, Denton and Rowland were arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center. Denton faces charges including lewd acts with a child, forcible sodomy, pattern of criminal offenses, and multiple counts of child abuse. Rowland is charged with pattern of criminal offenses and enabling child abuse. Both individuals remain in custody with Denton’s bail set at $500,000 and Rowland’s at $300,000. Legal representation for the accused parties has not been reported at this time.
The case has shocked the community, with London Kerr still missing as she approaches her 6th birthday. Authorities urge anyone with information or suspicions of child abuse to contact the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline for support and assistance. The harrowing details of this case highlight the importance of vigilance and intervention in cases of suspected child abuse to protect vulnerable individuals from harm.
