A Florida teacher has been arrested and charged with a series of serious offences after allegedly raping a middle school student in her classroom. Sarah Jacas, 32, was apprehended by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week on a list of charges including lewd or lascivious battery, lewd or lascivious molestation, and statutory rape by an authority figure. Following these revelations, Jacas did not return to school for the remaining weeks of the academic year. She was subsequently arrested on June 23 and appeared in court the next day. After posting bail, Jacas was released from the Orange County Detention Facility on June 25.
