Superman star David Corenswet recently had a heartwarming exchange with the son of the legendary Man of Steel, Christopher Reeve. Will Reeve, a Good Morning America correspondent and the offspring of the late actor, makes a cameo appearance in the upcoming Superman movie. Corenswet, aged 31, shared his experience of chatting with the 33-year-old journalist, describing him as “a very sweet and encouraging and positive guy.” The actor explained that while Reeve wouldn’t claim to give his approval, his excitement and support meant a great deal to the cast. “It’s always great to have a 6′ 4″ handsome, sweet guy say, ‘Hey, you’re doing great stuff. Keep going.’ That’s always helpful,” Corenswet added.

Christopher Reeve is famously known for portraying Superman in four films, starting with the iconic 1978 movie, “Superman: The Movie.” His legacy continued through “Superman II” (1980), “Superman III” (1983), and “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace” (1987). Nine years after a tragic horseback riding accident left him paralysed from the neck down, Reeve passed away from heart failure in 2004. Following his impactful portrayal, actors like Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill took on the role of the superhero on the big screen. Now, it’s David Corenswet’s turn to step into Superman’s boots when the new film hits theatres on July 11.
In the upcoming Superman movie, Corenswet will be starring alongside Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The Philadelphia native has showcased his acting chops in various projects, including Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series “The Politician” and “Hollywood.” Corenswet received the exciting news of landing the iconic role of Superman during a break from working on the blockbuster film “Twisters.” Recalling the moment he got the call from director James Gunn, Corenswet humorously shared, “He said, ‘I’m calling to offer you the role of Superman.’ And I said, ‘Well, you’re the only person who could do that, so it must be you.'”
