New York Zoo Nurtures Rare King Vulture Chick with Unique Hand Puppet Technique

In a heartwarming display of care and innovation, the Bronx Zoo in New York has taken on a special method to ensure the well-being of its newest addition, a king vulture chick. Born on February 25, this chick is an exceptionally rare arrival as the first king vulture to be hatched at the zoo in over three decades.

The zookeepers at the Bronx Zoo have adopted a creative approach to feeding the king vulture chick. Utilising a hand puppet designed to resemble an adult King Vulture, the team aims to prevent the young bird from imprinting on humans while facilitating its healthy growth into adulthood.
