Nia and Daniel Booko from ‘The Valley’ Face Naming Dilemma for Baby girl
Nia Sanchez and Daniel Booko are gearing up for the arrival of their fourth child in June but are yet to finalise a name for the newest member of their family. The 35-year-old Nia, a former Miss USA, and her 41-year-old husband Daniel, revealed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that they are still struggling to come to a decision on a name for their upcoming baby girl.
With just over two months to go until the baby is due, the couple expressed their usual preference for choosing names early on in the pregnancy. Nia mentioned, “We have just over two months left, and we still don’t have a name. And we like to choose our names early as possible.” She also added, “So we’re both kind of struggling that we don’t have a name yet.”
Already parents to twins Isabelle and Zariah, aged 22 months, and son Asher, aged 3½, the couple is familiar with the process of choosing names, but they admit that this time around is proving to be the longest they have taken to finalise a name. Despite the time crunch, Daniel revealed that they have managed to narrow down their options to three to five names. However, their eldest son, Asher, has a firm idea of his own for the baby’s name.
Asher, being an enthusiastic older brother, has been vocal about naming his baby sister “Little Dolly”. Daniel shared that Asher sticks to this suggestion and is adamant about it being the perfect fit. He jokingly mentioned that he asks Asher for name ideas daily, only to be met with a refusal unless it involves “Little Dolly”, which the couple considers as a potential nickname for their daughter.
Reflecting on the whirlwind of family and professional commitments, Daniel expressed, “We have so much stuff going on, and then it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh. We don’t have a name chosen yet.’ So we’re trying to settle down and make sure we get those important things taken care of.” This emotional process of selecting a name is an important milestone for the couple as they prepare to welcome their fourth child.
Nia shared that this pregnancy has felt different to her previous ones. She expressed a sense of peace and serenity this time around, citing the challenging times they faced with the twins during her second pregnancy. In 2023, Nia and Daniel revealed that their unborn twins had been diagnosed with Twin Anemia Polycythemia Sequence, a condition where blood flows unevenly between twin babies sharing a placenta.
The expectant mother remarked on the positive journey of their current pregnancy, highlighting the normal challenges like morning sickness but overall feeling content and relaxed. This contrasted with the uncertain and frightening moments they experienced during her previous pregnancies. As they eagerly await the arrival of their daughter, Nia and Daniel continue to navigate the process of choosing the perfect name for their growing family.
The couple’s openness and honesty about their naming struggles offer a relatable insight into the complexities of preparing for a new addition to the family. Their journey towards selecting a name reflects the love and anticipation they hold for their unborn child, making the process all the more special and meaningful for Nia, Daniel, and their children.
As Nia and Daniel eagerly await the birth of their fourth child, the couple’s dedication to finding the perfect name for their daughter showcases their commitment to creating a loving and nurturing environment for their expanding family. Amidst their busy lives and hectic schedules, the pair continues to embrace this exciting chapter with patience and enthusiasm, ultimately laying the foundation for beautiful memories to come.
