Shelby Van Pelt has exciting news for her fans as she announces an upcoming book tour exclusively for the paperback edition of her popular novel, ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures’. Scheduled to kick off in Paramus, N.J., on April 29, the same day the new edition hits the shelves, the tour includes 17 additional stops at various bookstores and libraries across the United States.
Originally published in 2022, ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures’ captured the hearts of readers with its unique and heartwarming storyline. The novel follows Tova Sullivan, who, amidst the challenges of her husband’s passing and her son’s disappearance, finds solace in a new job at the Sowell Bay Aquarium. There, she forms an unexpected bond with a giant octopus named Marcellus, who holds the key to uncovering the truth about her missing son.

Jenna Bush Hager even selected ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures’ for her esteemed Read with Jenna Book Club, and the book is now slated for a Netflix adaptation starring Sally Field. Van Pelt expresses her excitement about the paperback release, stating, “I never imagined Remarkably Bright Creatures would spend three years exclusively in hardcover. Typically, novels release in paperback about a year after the initial hardcover release, so three years is incredible.”
With the paperback launch, Van Pelt looks forward to introducing more readers to the charming character of Marcellus the octopus, whom she believes will now be more portable and accessible to fans. She expresses her anticipation for the opportunity to engage with readers and personally thank them for their support during the book tour.
