Prince Harry and Meghan Markle showed their Canadian spirit by attending an ice hockey game in Vancouver. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen at Rogers Arena on Saturday, Feb. 8, enjoying the game between the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs following the commencement of the 2025 Invictus Games.

During this outing, Prince Harry, 40, participated in the ceremonial puck drop alongside Canadian Invictus team members Lee Jarratt and Andre Crocker. Notably, this wasn’t the first time Harry had done the ceremonial first puck drop, having previously done so before a Canucks match against the San Jose Sharks in November 2023.

In the stands at Rogers Arena, Meghan, 43, and Harry were spotted cuddling up as they cheered on the teams. Meghan later shared a reel on her Instagram Stories, originally posted by the Canucks and NHL, showcasing their surprise appearance backstage at the arena and their hand-in-hand walk down the hallway.
The Duchess was elegantly dressed in a long black coat with dark red lapels, reminiscent of the coat she wore during her first royal tour with Harry in Sydney back in 2018. On the other hand, Harry sported a grey sweater and white shirt under a peacoat, paired with jeans.
This public appearance at the hockey match came on the heels of the couple attending the opening ceremony of the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver earlier that same day. Meghan documented moments from the event on her Instagram Stories, including a ride on a golf cart with Harry as they greeted the Invictus Games team members and watched Chris Martin from Coldplay perform at the ceremony.
During the ceremony, Harry and Meghan shared a kiss in the stands before Harry took the limelight to deliver a speech. Touching on the sports rivalries, Harry engaged the crowd, declaring, “Hello Canada and Bienvenue! So, the Toronto Games in 2017 were incredible, and I’m told there is no rivalry between east and west coast, especially when it comes to sport, so I have a question for you Vancouver: Are you ready to show Toronto — and the world — how the Games are done?”
The Invictus Games appearance marked the couple’s first official outing since their tour of Colombia in August. Their most recent public engagement was in January when they visited the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, Calif., to aid in distributing food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s presence at both the hockey match and the Invictus Games opening ceremony generated excitement and showcased their ongoing support for various causes. Their charismatic display of affection and involvement in community events further solidifies their place as beloved figures in both the royal and public spheres.
