Canadian rapper, Drake, has made it clear that he is very much alive amidst swirling rumours following Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy success in 2025. Lamar, who won five prestigious Grammys for his track “Not Like Us”, which is believed to be a diss track aimed at Drake, sparked speculation about the feud between the two artists.

Addressing his fans during his recent Anita Max Win Tour in Australia, Drake, known for hits like “God’s Plan”, expressed his gratitude, “My name is Drake. I started doing music in 2008. I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025, and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive and that’s all thanks to you. I love you.” The rapper also teased a forthcoming collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR titled “$ome $exy $ongs 4 u.”

The night saw Drake making a grand entrance donning a hoodie with faux bullet holes, creating a dramatic effect as smoke trailed behind him. The Degrassi alum later shared photos from the concert on his Instagram, along with a caption that read, “They thought Einstein was lying & Shakespeare was barely rhyming & Edison wasn’t lit despite what he was designing. So how can I give af what they say about my stars aligning.”
Just two days prior, Lamar clinched five Grammy awards, including song of the year and record of the year, at the 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony on February 2nd. While Drake did not directly address Lamar’s wins, his father, Dennis Graham, shared his perspective in a candid interview filmed post-Grammys. Graham remarked, “I don’t care nothing about that s—. That ain’t got nothing to do with me. All the best to him, man. I don’t do that bulls—.” He commended this year’s show as “excellent.”
The rivalry between Drake and Lamar dates back over a year, triggered by Drake’s track “First Person Shooter” alongside J. Cole, where Drake hinted at being part of the “big three” of rap, along with Lamar. Since then, both artists have been engaging in a series of diss tracks. Lamar’s “Not Like Us” released in May contained provocative lines aimed at Drake, insinuating his involvement with underage girls.
In response, Drake filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group in January, alleging the label orchestrated a viral campaign using false accusations against him. The lawsuit asserts Drake has not engaged in any criminal behaviour as alleged in the song. UMG refuted these claims, asserting their unwavering support of Drake’s career and success over the years.
As the feud between Drake and Lamar continues to capture headlines, fans are left speculating on the future of their contentious relationship and eagerly await further developments in this ongoing saga between two of music’s biggest stars. The tension between them adds an intriguing layer to the music industry, keeping fans on edge as they anticipate what’s next in this high-profile rivalry.
