Christina Haack made a surprising choice by inviting her second ex-husband, Ant Anstead, as a guest star on her latest HGTV show, The Flip Off. Despite their contentious divorce in 2020, which included a custody battle for their son Hudson, the pair have since reconciled. Tarek El Moussa, Christina’s first husband and co-star on the show, revealed exclusively to PEOPLE that he was taken aback by how amicable his ex-wife had become with Anstead.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Tarek, alongside Christina and his wife Heather, shared his shock at discovering that his ex-wife had chosen Ant Anstead, 45, to be a guest judge on The Flip Off. Tarek expressed his surprise at seeing Christina, 41, and Anstead interacting so positively on set, especially since he and Heather were unaware that they were on good terms. Heather mentioned that the sudden friendship between Christina and Ant caught them off guard as they believed the two were not in communication.
The Selling Sunset star, Heather El Moussa, reflected on witnessing the reconciliation between Christina and Anstead unfold before her eyes, describing it as a whirlwind experience. She recounted how Christina started following Ant on Instagram, leading them to question the sudden change in dynamics. According to Heather, the situation left them confused, prompting them to reach out to Christina for clarification.
Christina explained to PEOPLE that one of the reasons she invited Anstead to join the show was to playfully provoke Tarek and Heather. She acknowledged that her choice of judges was partly intended to unsettle her ex-husband on the competition series. The unexpected reunion between Christina and Ant was first hinted at when they were spotted filming together in November 2024, leading fans to speculate about Anstead’s involvement in The Flip Off.
After parting ways in 2020 and finalizing their divorce in 2021, Christina and Anstead, who tied the knot in December 2018, faced a tumultuous period marked by a bitter custody battle over their son. However, their relationship took a positive turn following Christina’s split from her third husband, Josh Hall, when she reconnected with Anstead on social media. They have since been engaging in friendly interactions online, focusing on co-parenting their son.
While Christina has mended fences with Ant Anstead, her relationship with Josh Hall remains strained, with both parties openly discussing their issues on social media. Amid their ongoing divorce proceedings, both Christina and Josh have moved on to new relationships. Christina is now romantically involved with businessman Christopher Larocca, while Josh has found companionship with model Stephanie Gabrys.
