Gabriel Macht, best known for his role in the hit TV series Suits, has recently relocated out of the United States with his family. However, the actor is keeping tight-lipped about their exact whereabouts. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Macht revealed that they are now based somewhere in Europe, but he prefers to keep the location under wraps. The actor mentioned, “I am based somewhere in Europe, but I don’t tell anybody where I live because I like to keep that under wraps.”
Macht and his wife, Jacinda Barrett, along with their two children, daughter Satine, 17, and son Luca, 10, decided to make the move after the conclusion of Suits in 2019. The family initially planned to homeschool their children before the pandemic hit, but the circumstances led them to explore the world instead. The actor shared, “Right before COVID, we wanted to take the kids out of school and homeschool them. But then we got stuck and so we were in Manhattan. That just wasn’t doing it for us.”
Having spent significant time on both the East and West Coasts of the United States, Macht felt it was time for a change after leaving Suits. He expressed, “We decided to explore the world, so we left.” This change in scenery allowed Macht to take a break from acting and focus on new career ventures. One of his recent projects includes becoming a creative partner and executive shareholder in Bear Fight Whiskey.
Macht’s involvement with Bear Fight Whiskey showcases a departure from his iconic character, Harvey Specter, known for his love of Macallan whisky in Suits. The actor clarified, “Harvey — he’s really a Macallan guy, but I’m not a Macallan guy. I’m a Bear Fight guy.” He emphasized the whiskey as an “everyman drink” that is both affordable and approachable, reflecting his own preferences.
Despite taking a step back from acting to concentrate on his family and entrepreneurial pursuits, Macht will be returning to the small screen in the upcoming Suits LA spinoff. The decision to reprise his role as Harvey Specter in the new series made sense for him, especially as he can involve his whiskey brand in the show.
