Princess Iman of Jordan, the daughter of Queen Rania, is expecting her first child with her husband Jameel Thermiotis. The exciting news was revealed by Queen Rania on Instagram. In a post shared on Friday, Jan. 24, Queen Rania posted a beautiful beachfront photo capturing the sunset, with Princess Iman proudly displaying her growing baby bump. In the caption, the Queen expressed her joy, referring to the upcoming arrival as a blessing, stating, “Two is a couple, three is a blessing.”

The impending arrival of Princess Iman’s baby comes shortly after the birth of her niece, who was also named Princess Iman. Born in August 2024 to Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, the newborn baby girl shares her name with her aunt. Princess Iman, as the second child and eldest daughter of King Abdullah and Queen Rania, holds a special place within the royal family. Despite not being in the line of succession, Princess Iman’s pregnancy brings joy and anticipation to the royal household.
In Jordan, the succession to the throne follows a strict hereditary line of male heirs, as outlined in the country’s constitution. According to Article 28, the title of the King passes to the eldest son, followed by the eldest son of the eldest son, and so forth. In the absence of a male heir, the King has the authority to designate an heir from among his brothers. This means that Princess Iman’s child may not inherit the throne, even though her older brother, Crown Prince Hussein, is positioned as the future King of Jordan.
Princess Iman’s journey towards motherhood began in March 2023 when she wed Jameel Thermiotis in a lavish royal wedding ceremony held in Amman. The nuptials were a grand affair, with Princess Iman’s elder brother, Crown Prince Hussein, walking her down the aisle. Following the wedding, the Crown Prince shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness and blessings.
Both Princess Iman and Jameel Thermiotis come from accomplished backgrounds, with Princess Iman graduating from Parson’s School of Design in New York with a business administration degree. Jameel, originally from Venezuela, holds a business degree and has worked in finance in New York. The couple’s engagement, announced in July 2022, was met with warm wishes and congratulations from the royal family.
As the royal family eagerly anticipates the newest addition, the joy and excitement surrounding Princess Iman’s pregnancy continue to grow. Queen Rania, known for her elegance and grace, has shared her happiness with the public, celebrating the forthcoming arrival of her grandchild. The royal household, steeped in tradition and history, welcomes this momentous occasion with open arms, embracing the future generation of the Jordanian monarchy.
